Letter From The Editor:
Greetings to all and hope you are having a happy new year. We kick off our year with our candidate-focused issue with the aim of providing some advice and encouragement to all of you who are existing candidates of ours who are on assignment as well as all of you with whom we are working to find a different position. We have experienced a year full of challenges and while there is still a great deal of concern in the legal staffing market, I hope that you will find some brightening news about the market and some assistance on best preparing yourself for the year. There are still bright spots in this industry, particularly in the contract attorney world and in the in-house arena. We have pieces this issue from Lacee Anderson, Attorney Search Director in our Minneapolis office on how to revamp your search effort in the New Year. Also, we have Tara Wilson, Executive Director of our Nashville office who shares timeless advice on interviewing etiquette, an oft-neglected but crucial topic. Finally, the highly-tenured Senior Placement Directors in our Austin office, Mary Alice Naiser and Holly Coe, outline the great importance of creating a direct and personal relationship with the recruiter working with you to help you achieve your career objectives. Determination, drive and persistence are all requisite traits for a successful search. Fortunately, they are also qualities typically sought by potential employers. Enjoy your new year and know that all at Special Counsel consider it as a privilege to assist you in your endeavors.
David J. Maldonado, Esq., Editor
