The nation's leading legal search and staffing company, Special Counsel, Inc., is currently seeking candidates for Business Immigration Paralegal Job in Austin, TX. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have at least an Associate degree and three years' experience in a similar role. You will provide full-service paralegal support for attorneys practicing exclusively on immigration matters. If you enjoy working in a team-environment, then this position may be for you!
Duties of the Business Immigration Paralegal Job in Austin, TX Include:

  • Providing support to the immigration attorney on case preparation and case management for temporary and permanent visa issues.
  • The paralegal will assist the attorney in collecting and reviewing information from employee/HR clients, independently preparing forms, drafting letters to support the non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and putting together submission packages.
  • The paralegal will interface with the client to prepare them for government interviews, where required, and communicating case status.
  • The paralegal will assist with coordinating document review with the attorney and clients, responding to requests for additional evidence from the government and ensuring timely and accurate submission of non-immigrant and immigrant petitions and related applications to the government.
  • The paralegal will assist in case management through timely and accurate data/record maintenance, preparing/maintaining reports of document expirations and case progress, and timely communications with clients to monitor document expirations.

Requirements of the Business Immigration Paralegal Job in Austin, TX:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree required, with a paralegal certificate.
  • 3 or more years of law firm experience required.
  • Experience with case preparation/submission, data entry/record keeping and maintaining reports for non-immigrant cases such as L-1 (Blanket and Individual), H-1B, E-3, TN, O-1 and H-3 form preparation. Experience with providing support for immigrant/green card cases .
  • At least 2 years of experience working on PERM cases
  • Experience using immigration form/case management software such as INS Zoom or a similar software program that generates forms and reports of document expiration.
  • Ability to work independently to review work products to ensure accuracy on forms and statements.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
