Environmental Law Jobs

Environmental Law Job Description

As sustainability becomes a priority for businesses and a focus for federal, state and local governments, the field of environmental law is on the precipice of a tremendous surge. In fact, job growth within the industry will likely outpace the growth of the legal industry overall which is projected to expand by 10 percent between 2010 and 2020.

Environmental law specialty areas

The environmental law field is nearly as diverse as the planet itself. Professionals can specialize in regulations, litigation and compliance consultation. In addition, professionals can focus on issues such as:

  • Agriculture
  • Species protection
  • Hazardous waste
  • Greenhouse emissions
  • Water and air quality
  • Waste management

Given the heightened sensitivity to environmental issues, and the potential for fines and penalties, many larger companies are bringing environmental law professionals in house. Smaller companies generally tap into leading firms for the required expertise.

At Special Counsel, we work with both leading companies and top law firms to help them connect with premier environmental law professionals—including attorneys, paralegals, administrative staff and others. As a result, we can connect you with premier opportunities.
