Special Counsel is currently seeking a litigation paralegal with experience in foreclosure litigation. The ideal candidate will be motivated, driven, and ability to work independently. This role does not offer a high level of supervision, so someone with strong initiative is required.
Responsibilities include:
• Process incoming cases and setting up new matters in the case management system
• Review contested pleadings, such as: answers, affirmative defenses, counterclaims, and motions for summary judgment
• Assess service returns, public notices, and summons
• Review discovery from opposing counsel, coordinate client responses, interview witnesses, prepare outgoing discovery drafts
• Manage client communications to process and exchange pleadings and discovery documents
• Draft motions, including summary judgment motions
• Serve as primary point of contact on case files

Minimum requirements include:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree and Paralegal Certification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of mortgage foreclosure or commercial litigation experience
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently
• Excellent time-management and communication skills
• Ability to monitor a case load of 50+ cases at various stages of proceeding.
