Special Counsel has a Senior Paralegal job in Newark, New Jersey, available with a corporate client.  If you are an experienced legal professional knowledgeable in litigation and corporate governance in an in-house environment, we would love to see your resume today!  Our client is a national company hoping to expand its legal team.
 
Responsibilities will include:
• Assist and provide direct support to Deputy General Counsel and Sr. VP.
• Prepare, organize and maintain litigation files, litigation docket and calendar.
• Gather information for and compose pleadings, motions, affidavits, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research on various matters using WestLaw and other legal software and monitor state and federal legislation.
• Support corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters including review, preparation, filing and maintenance of corporate documents, records and regulatory filings.
• Facilitate internal contract submission, review, tracking and filing process.
 
Qualifications and Highlights:  
• Bachelor’s Degree along with Paralegal Certificate preferred.
• Minimum (3) years in a Paralegal role handling litigation and corporate matters.
• Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.  
• Experience in retail/franchise businesses preferred.
