Large International Law Firm currently seeks a Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant with 6+ years experience for their New York office to assist with all aspects of Estate Planning and Administration. Under the direction of attorneys, the candidate will assist with preparation of federal and state tax returns, Surrogate Court filings, affidavits of domicile, letters of authorization and basic estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, healthcare proxies, living wills and powers of attorney. Experience must also include preparation of accountings of acts of executors or trustees, receipt and release agreements, as well as cash reconciliation and proposed distribution schedules and liquidation and distribution of assets. The candidate must have excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under deadlines. Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills are a must, along with strong computer skills. Flexibility for overtime is also needed.
