Dear Friends and Colleagues –
Welcome to the fourth quarter issue of The Column. I hope you are having a wonderful fall and are enjoying the tremendous weather the season has brought.
In this issue, we welcome Shunte Yllera. A Bay Area native who attended the University of California, Berkeley, Shunte is a Placement Director for the San Jose and San Francisco offices of Special Counsel. In her piece, Shunte, a seasoned recruiter, discusses the welcome resurgence of client direct hires. Also in this issue, we have a comprehensive breakdown of steps you can and should be taking to reduce your unemployment taxes, penned by Elizabeth Parks-Landry, a veteran of Special Counsel for more than 14 years. Elizabeth is the Executive Director in New Orleans, and shares crucial input from a Department of Labor source as well as her own extensive experience in legal staffing. We are proud to have two such fine and experienced authors. We look forward to working with you this fall and winter.
