Attorney (Bad Faith/ERISA/Coverage)

The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of recent Bad Faith/Coverage experience working for the employer's side, experienced working with state and federal courts, and holds an active CA Bar membership. In this role, you will be working alongside a senior partner of a large firm to assist on researching coverage, summarizing case files, preparing discovery responses, and more. This contract role is 100% remote and could turn into a remote permanent position for the right candidate at the end of the year, if that is something you would be open to.   • Full time, 40 hours a week
  • Attorney (Bad Faith/Coverage) Responsibilities: 

  • Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Managing discovery, including taking/presenting witnesses for deposition.
  • Providing professional liability coverage analyses to clients.
  • Conducting legal research, analysis and writing.
  • Qualifications: 

  • At least 5 years of recent coverage opinions, coverage litigation, bad faith, declaratory relief experience, required. 
  • Previous and recent tenure at medium to large firms, preferred. 
  • Active member of the State Bar of California and in good standing, required.  
  • Experience handling life, health and disability matters related to ERISA claims, preferred. 
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills.   
  • The ability to communicate effectively and handle multiple priorities in a timely and professional manner.   
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, West Law.
