Bankruptcy Paralegal

Special Counsel is looking to interview a Junior Paralegal for a direct hire opportunity with a busy national law firm’s local office. The ideal candidate should exhibit a high attention to detail, be a team player, and demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in preparation of the case for filing by drafting and preparing: schedules, statement, motions and order for Chapter 7 of bankruptcy codes
  • Utilizes computerized bankruptcy techniques and software when applicable
  • Establishes, organizes and maintains attorney trial notebooks, expert witness notebooks, document indexes and lists
  • Reviews and analyzes court actions for the purpose of preparing matter evaluations and status reports to clients
  • Qualifications:

  • Five or more years’ experience in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy or complex litigation
  • Knowledge of Florida state, and Bankruptcy court rules
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate a plus
  • Experience: At least five years’ experience in a law firm assisting multiple attorneys with their Bankruptcy or complex litigation caseload

    Employment Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

    Work Hours: 40 hours per week
