Special Counsel is looking for a Business Immigration Paralegal in Austin, TX. This position requires supporting lawyers with tasks such as factual research, document analysis, and drafting transactional documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation and filing of visa petitions
  • Investigate factual issues by using a variety of resources, including local libraries, web sites, client repositories, and other outside sources
  • Present results of all projects in effectively written memos, e-mails, or in logical discussion
  • Coordinate the storage of client information with the firm’s Records Department
  • Maintain all administrative standards set by the firm, including the preparation and submittal of daily time entries, attendance at administrative meetings, and other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Utilize the firm’s software and technology
  • Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of employment-based immigration experience, including H-1B and L-1 visa petitions
  • Working understanding of the legal terminology specific to the immigration practice group
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to be trained on specific practice group technology
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to follow up on assignments in situations where there is little or no guidance
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions
  • Organize and prioritize own workload and help timekeepers with their organization
  • Take the initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done
  • Salary:

  • $65,000- $92,000 depending on experience
