Special Counsel is currently staffing for a unique position based out of Baltimore, MD, projected to start middle of April. Please see assignment details and requirements below and submit your resume ASAP if you are interested in this opportunity.
Assignment Duties:
Provide legal assistance to self-represented litigants in connection with civil cases before the Circuit and District Courts of Maryland. Areas of practice include, but are not limited to family law, housing law, consumer law, employment law.
Represent low income clients in court, assist with outreach and intake as needed.
Legal services to self-represented litigants will primarily occur via phone, live chat, video conference assistance, or as requested by the Court.
Assignment Details:
Anticipated Start Date: Middle of April, following 3-step interview process
Expected Duration: Temp up to 1 year with potential for permanent employment
Hour requirement: 40 Hours per week within hours that court is open
Pay: $ 30/hour
Location: Baltimore-based with a in-state travel required, remote work but also need to be flexible to be on site as well
Required Qualifications:
Bar/License: Licensed and in good standing in Maryland
Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel in-state
Other:
At least one-year or more civil litigation experience.
Excellent organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills required.
Spanish language proficiency desirable.
