Construction Litigation Paralegal

Special Counsel is looking to hire a Construction Litigation Paralegal for a direct hire opportunity with a busy client. The ideal candidate should exhibit a high attention to detail, be a team player, and demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with client and Litigation Support Department to handle all aspects of discovery
  • Act as a liaison between attorneys and Litigation Technology Department
  • Review discovery responses from opposing counsel; prepare discovery summaries
  • Review and create knowledge base with information from documents produced
  • Perform legal research for relevant information regarding cases
  • Assist with preparation of reports and provide status updates to clients
  • Prepare materials for hearings, trials, and depositions
  • Coordinate logistics for out of town trials
  • Assist with Appellate filings, prepare Record on Appeal, and exhibits of Bill of Costs
  • Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Relativity and ECF procedures required
  • Specialization in Insurance Defense or Construction litigation required
  • Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate a plus
  • Experience: At least 5 years’ experience as a Paralegal in either Contentious or Non-Contentious Construction and Engineering matters.

    Employment Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

    Work Hours: 40 hours per week
