Corporate Legal Assistant

Special Counsel is looking to hire a Corporate Legal Assistant to report directly to the General Counsel of a growing, innovative South Florida private asset management firm. The individual we are seeking is someone who is still earlier on their career, looking for an opportunity to enhance their skills and advance in a Legal department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to in-house lawyers and interface with outside counsels as needed with respect to various transactions;
  • Assist with maintaining Closing Checklists;
  • Assist in drafting and keeping up to date Organizational Charts;
  • Assist with Know Your Customer (KYC) requests from third parties.
  • Qualifications:

  • Preferred familiarity with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules and procedures as well as understanding of all aspects regarding formation/dissolution/maintenance of entities as investment vehicles.
  • Fluency in Portuguese (Brazilian) and/or Spanish is a plus
  • Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set, organize and meet priorities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with particular attention to detail;
  • The candidate should be self-motivated and be comfortable working independently (with appropriate supervision) as well as with others in small team, energetic environment;
  • Experience working with corporate documentation and transaction documents;
  • Knowledge of roles/responsibilities/obligations of a paralegal in the context of funds and financing transactions;
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe in a corporate law setting
