Corporate Legal Secretary

Special Counsel is recruiting a corporate legal secretary for the Cleveland office of a mid-size law firm.  The Corporate Legal Secretary will be the right hand to a busy partner and an associate in our Business Services department with all facets of their practice. 


  • Proactive approach to managing administrative tasks for busy Liquor Control partner (requesting conflict checks, setting up files, submitting expenses, billing, managing partner schedule, etc.);
  • Drafting, editing and finalizing correspondence, forms and other documents;
  • Schedule meetings;
  • Manage multiple calendars and due dates;
  • General administrative assistant tasks such as, filing, processing mail, scanning, preparing court filings, phone etiquette, etc.
  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of corporate or liquor control secretary experience in a law firm setting;
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Worldox and experience with time entry software such as SurePoint;
  • Must have superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Must possess solid proofreading skills, accuracy and demonstrate attention to detail;
  • Must have strong organizational and prioritizing skills;
  • Must be self-disciplined and proactive by identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency;
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast changing environment;
  • Must be confidential and demonstrate sound judgment;
  • Must possess professional integrity; and
  • Project a professional image and have a friendly demeanor.
