Are you an experienced litigation secretary with complex litigation experience interested in a permanent job opportunity in Los Angeles? You will be supporting state and federal complex business litigation with an emphasis on real estate litigation. You will be responsible for drafting, formatting, and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, memorandum, discovery, and more; filing and e-filing in state and federal courts; calendaring, including scheduling appointment, meetings, and conference calls; docketing and deadline management; preparing charts and graphs as needed; coordinating couriers, witnesses, and court reporters; legal research; file maintenance; and other tasks as assigned. You will also be responsible for administrative tasks, including attorney time entry, expense report support, coordinating travel and meetings, copy/scan jobs, and monitoring deadlines and schedules. The ideal candidate will be very customer-service oriented and a pleasure to work with, with a no-task-too-small, positive attitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4+ years of strong litigation secretary experience, including trial support
Strong computer proficiency, especially with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Timeslips), e-filing programs the following is a plus: Laserfiche
Typing speed of 50wpm or faster
A thorough understanding of filing and e-filing procedures in state and federal courts and skills for formatting legal documents, including TOCs and TOAs
Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
Great communication and interpersonal skills with a helpful, no-job-too-small mindset
