Special Counsel is recruiting an Estate Planning Paralegal Position for a large, national law firm headquartered in Cleveland. This is a full-time, temporary position, with the possibility of hire. Work is remote and on-site. Benefits available.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and safeguard of all estate planning documents
Review and outline current client estate plans for clients for attorney review
Draft minor estate planning documents such as Wills Codicils, Trust Amendments, Power of Attorney(Healthcare and Financial), Tangible Personal Property memorandum, etc. for attorney review
Supervise or witness execution of wills, trusts, living wills, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents; review these documents to ensure all necessary signatures
Assist clients, where desired, with pre-death planning, including tangibles inventories and funeral planning, and probate avoidance, including re-titling property where necessary
Provide assistance, where desired, in the operation of a Delaware private trust company
Preparation of probate court documents including opening and closing court papers, inventories and accounts, beneficiary and creditor notices
Administration of probate estates and funded trusts, including the collection and transfer of assets, the payment of debts and administration of expenses and the distribution of assets to beneficiaries
Preparation of federal estate tax returns.
Work with tax department in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns for individuals, estates and trusts and federal gift tax returns.
Qualifications
Excellent academic credentials
Law firm or Accounting firm experience
A minimum of 5 years estate planning experience
Notary Public
