Insurance Defense Legal Assistant

Special Counsel is looking to hire a Legal Assistant with insurance defense experience for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a busy law firm. The ideal candidate should exhibit a high attention to detail, team player, and demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and proofreading legal documents
  • Organize case files and documents
  • Assist with scheduling and calendaring
  • General case management
  • Communicate with outside counsel
  • E-filing
  • Legal research
  • Trial and discovery preparation
  •  

    Qualifications:

  • E-filing experience required
  • Knowledge of court rules and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Experience with insurance defense/first party property claims
  •  

    Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  •  

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred
  •  

    Experience: Minimum 5 years of Legal Assistant with insurance defense litigation experience required.

     

    Employment Type: Full-time; contract

     

    Work Hours: 40 hours per week
