Special Counsel is seeking an Intellectual Property Legal Secretary to support one of our law firm clients with trademark, patent, and copyright prosecution work. This is professional and highly regarded firm with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain U.S. and foreign patent and trademark docketing database, internal docketing, and generating reports
Assist with recording patent, trademark and copyright assignments and security interests with the USPTO.
Prepare, file and prosecute national and international trademark applications, including drafting applicable documents
Prepare responses to Office Actions, Statements of Use/Extensions of Time, and preparing/filing trademark renewal documents
Communicates with USPTO, attorneys, paralegals, liaisons, and staff
Review USPTO and outside counsel correspondence, docket new cases and due dates
Assists with handling issues of domain name/website infringements, including transfer of domain names
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of patent and trademark docketing experience
International patent and trademark prosecution and registration experience
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment ensuring both internal and external deadlines are met
Able to adapt to changing work priorities, work flow and work assignments
Minimum of two (3) years of intellectual property prosecution experience
BA/BS degree and/or Paralegal certificate
