IP Legal Assistant

Are you an experienced IP Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant with patent litigation and patent prosecution experience? Special Counsel is looking for a Full-Time IP Legal Assistant for our client, a large Phoenix Law Firm. Our client is looking for someone with at least 2+ years of IP experience working in a law firm. This position comes with a competitive salary, generous benefits, and a wonderful team environment! Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patent documents for clients and the USPTO
  • Assist attorneys with entering in their billable time
  • Open and close new matters
  • Assist with patent litigation and prosecution matters
  • Communicate with clients
  • File documents with the USPTO and know the USPTO rules and filing procedures
  •  

    Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Complete projects under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to train and learn quickly
  • Excellent proofreading, editing, and grammar skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Have a positive and professional attitude
  •  

    Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • IP Patent Prosecution experience is required
  • IP Patent Litigation experience is required
  •  

    Salary and Benefits:

  • This position pays $58,000 - $73,000 depending on experience and education
  • Benefits include: 15 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, 401(k) with an employer match, tuition and gym reimbursement, and medical, dental and vision insurance plans
