Special Counsel is currently seeking an experienced legal assistant to join our client in Phoenix, Arizona.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years experience as a legal assistant in a law firm environment, as well as two years in intellectual property patent prosecution. They will join an award winning team of lawyers in an Am Law 200 firm with above market pay and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and e-file applications, amendments, information disclosure statements, and more at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
  • Manage both electronic and physical file systems
  • Provide exceptional service to clients and USPTO examiners
  • Maintain current knowledge of USPOTO rules and filing procedures
  • Transcribe, edit, and review legal documents, correspondence, contracts, and memoranda
  • Review dockets with attorneys and assist with coordinating schedules
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • College level courses/degree preferred
  • 5+ years legal assistant experience in a law firm environment
  • 2+ years intellectual property patent prosecution experience required

  • Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm (with flexibility)
