IP Paralegal

Special Counsel is partnering with one of our favorite clients in their search for an IP Paralegal. One must have at least three years of experience in intellectual property to be considered for this opportunity. This is a temp-to-permanent position and can start immediately.


Experience Required

  • Knowledge of US patent prosecution procedures
  • Electronically file patent applications, amendments, extensions, Information Disclosure Statements and other documents with the USPTO
  • Prepare draft responses to Office Actions and other prosecution documents
  • Report US and foreign Office Actions and amendment filings to clients
  • Monitor docket reports regarding USPTO deadlines, both domestic and foreign
  • Obtain copies of patents, publications, and other prior art references online

    Software & Skills Required

  • Exceptional proofreading skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Basic US patent prosecution knowledge of procedures
  • Basic knowledge of PowerPoint
