Legal Administrative Assistant – Business Litigation

Special Counsel is working on an immediate need for a Business Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant!

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Prepare legal documents and correspondence, including filing documents electronically through Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) for a variety of district, state and appellate courts
* Frequently correspond with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses and court personnel
* Enter time on behalf of assigned timekeepers, process payment requests, and coordinate the client billing process
* Maintain client files and contact information
* Schedule meetings, conference calls, depositions, court hearings, and travel arrangements
* Proactively ensure the legal team is prepared with necessary materials for meetings, depositions, hearings, trials, etc.

* Good planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
* Excellent administrative/secretarial and proofreading skills

* Ability to problem-solve and use sound judgment
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Positive and professional demeanor
* Ability to manage conflicting priorities with competing deadlines
REQUIREMENTS
* 5 years of LAA experience; Business Litigation experience strongly preferred
* Business school or related professional legal secretarial degree preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
* Proficiency in ECF on both state and federal levels
* Proven ability to manage multiple calendars, including docketing of court deadlines
