Civil Litigation Legal Assistant

Special Counsel is looking to hire a Civil Litigation Legal Assistant for a long-term temporary opportunity with a busy client in Personal Injury litigation. The ideal candidate should exhibit a high attention to detail, be a team player, and demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.



  • Draft, proofread and/or disseminate legal documents and correspondence as directed by the attorney.
  • Schedule hearings, depositions, meditations, conferences, examinations under oath and other events as directed by the attorney.
  • Contact adjusters, medical facilities, and opposing counsel.
  • E-file pleadings
  • Gather and organize records, documents and other materials.
  • Timely and efficiently maintain case management data within case management program
  • Qualifications:

  • Three plus years’ experience in civil litigation required, insurance defense experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional transcription skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Client Profiles, Outlook, Juris and electronic billing
  • Understanding of medical terminology, a plus
  • Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience: At least 3 years’ experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant handling Medical Malpractice, Construction, or First Party Property litigation matters

    Employment Type: Full-time; Temporary

    Work Hours: 40 hours per week
