Special Counsel is searching for a full-time Bankruptcy Litigation Legal Assistant for our client: a boutique law firm. This position will work in our client’s downtown Seattle office. Our client is offering a flexible hybrid work schedule. Our client offers competitive compensation along with an excellent benefits package. Candidates should have at least 5+ years of experience including Washington filing experience. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

•             Draft, edit, and file legal pleadings in both state and federal court

•             Help prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness books

•             Open new matters, conduct conflict checks, and close matters

•             Manage multiple calendars, schedule appointments, and book travel arrangements

•             Prepare expense reports and check requests

•             Review pre-bills and enter in attorney’s billable time

•             Conduct external research for various projects

•             Ensure the litigation case docket is correct and up to date

•             Import electronic documents into the firm’s document management system

 

Required Skills:

•             At least 5+ years of previous legal assistant experience

•             Strong secretarial skills

•             Knowledge of court’s litigation procedures

•             Experience using computer software such as Adobe, iManage, and Concur

•             Ability to take initiative

•             Bachelor’s Degree Preferred or equivalent work experience
