You are an ideal candidate will have at least five years of recent experience as a Legal Secretary for a mid- to large-size law firm, possess excellent communication skills, and likes to be a part of a close-knit group.  As the Legal Assistant Floater, you will be responsible for taking on various firmwide projects and assisting with eFiling from the various litigation desks at the firm. This position offers exposure to many different practice areas while working for multiple attorneys daily for a firm that values work life balance and positive environment.   • Legal Secretary (Litigation/Floater) Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparing case documents.
  • Court filings with the Federal and State courts.
  • Calendaring litigation dates maintaining attorney calendars.
  • Identifying, marking and creating Table of Authorities and Table of Contents.
  • Providing trial support.
  • Maintaining litigation binders/logs and case files.
  • Client service.
  • Document processing.
  • Time entry.
  • Scheduling appointments and arranging meetings and conferences.
  • Monitoring incoming mail, faxes, and e-mails.
  • Filing and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of recent Legal Secretary experience in the litigation department of a medium to large firm. Previous tenure, required. 
  • Experience with state and federal court rules and filing procedures.
  • Knowledge of the deposition processes.
  • Solid organization skills, attention to detail, the ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion are also required.
  • Excellent written/verbal communications skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are a must.
  • Flexibility for overtime is required. 
  • Ability to successfully manage shifting priorities, multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including impeccable proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). PowerPoint is a plus.
