Special Counsel is currently seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our client in downtown Portland in their business and estate planning practice groups.

The ideal candidate will be licensed in both Oregon and Washington and will have 5-7 years of experience in business law, estate planning and tax law. They will possess strong work ethic and be capable of leading complex client engagements.

They will join a small firm with a phenomenal reputation for planning and administering estates of all sizes and complexities, as well as providing business counsel to some of the top companies in the Pacific Northwest. Candidates will enjoy a hybrid remote schedule with three days in the office, and will have the option to work from the Portland or Vancouver office. The firm offers above market pay, competitive benefits packages, and quarterly bonuses after 1000 hours are billed each year.

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for, and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel
  • Carry out preliminary case assessment and discovery through interviews, depositions, as well as production of evidence and admission
  • Provide representation for clients in trial and in settlement negotiation
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Communicate with legal support staff and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience in tax, business and estate planning law
  • Must be admitted to the bar in Oregon and Washington

  • Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5pm (with flexibility)
