Special Counsel is currently seeking an experienced litigation attorney to support business and estate planning matters with our client in downtown Portland, OR. 

The ideal candidate is admitted to the bar in both Oregon and Washington, has exceptional interpersonal communication skills and has 5-7 years of experience leading complex client engagements in tax, business and estate planning matters. They will join a boutique sized firm with a demonstrated reputation in Portland and Vancouver working a hybrid remote schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel
  • Carry out preliminary case assessment and discovery through interviews, depositions, as well as production of evidence and admission
  • Provide representation for clients in trial and in settlement negotiation
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Communicate with legal support staff and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience in tax, business and estate planning law
  • Must be admitted to the bar in Oregon and Washington
  • Employment Type:

  • Full-time
  • Contract to hire or direct hire
  • Work Hours:

  • Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm (with flexibility)
  • In-office / remote hybrid
