Litigation & Bankruptcy/Receivership Legal Assistant

Special Counsel is currently seeking a legal assistant in Seattle with experience in bankruptcy and receivership, or a strong interest in gaining proficiency in the field. 

The ideal candidate has five years of experience working as a legal assistant and has a strong understanding of legal administrative processes. They will work with four attorneys in the sophisticated litigation and bankruptcy group in a mid-sized firm in downtown Seattle. Responsibilities:

  • Draft, type, proofread, and format correspondence, memoranda, agreements, pleadings and other legal and business documents from notes or templates
  • Maintain frequent and professional communication with attorneys to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Complete legal research and summarize concisely for attorneys
  • Organize documents, information packets, presentations, and/or exhibits, as needed
  • Open new matters by following conflict-checking protocol
  • Maintain attorney and client files including email and electronic files
  • Create motion and trial binders and support general trial preparation
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience as a legal assistant
  • Experience in bankruptcy and receivership, or a strong interest in learning
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
