Litigation Legal Assistant - Jacksonville, FL

Are you an experienced litigation secretary/assistant interested in a full-time opportunity in downtown Jacksonville, FL? You will be expected to be highly familiar with local and state court rules, as well as federal and state filing and e-filing. You will be responsible for drafting, formatting, and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings and discovery responses; filing and e-filing in state and federal courts; preparing spreadsheets analyzing client data, and entering data into the database; opening new client matters and initiating conflicts checks; maintaining physical and electronic files; calendar management; legal research; and other tasks as assigned. You will also be responsible for administrative tasks, including attorney time entry, routing incoming mail, coordinating teleconferences and meetings, scheduling depositions, and monitoring deadlines and schedules. The ideal candidate will be a pleasure to work with, with a no-task-too-small, proactive attitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills supporting top-notch customer service skills. You will be supporting three successful associates, and may need to work overtime as requested. Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of litigation secretary or assistant experience
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with a helpful, no-job-too-small mindset
