Litigation Paralegal

Special Counsel is looking to hire a Litigation Paralegal for a Direct Hire opportunity with a busy client. The ideal candidate should exhibit a high attention to detail, be a team player, and demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with client and Litigation Support Department to handle all aspects of discovery
  • Oversee and conduct document reviews; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes; track and report on review progress and results
  • Review and create knowledge base with information from documents produced
  • Perform legal research for relevant information regarding cases
  • Perform analytical tasks, including prepare witness interview memoranda, review and summarize documents, deposition, court transcripts and create and use coding tools
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping accounts
  • Coordinate logistics for out of town trials
  • Assist with trial preparation, including create trial notebooks, identify and organize exhibits, and coordinate witness schedules
  • Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in and knowledge of medical malpractice or nursing home matters required
  • Trial experience preferred
  • Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Experience: At least 5 years’ experience as a Paralegal handling complex litigation matters

    Employment Type: Full-time; Temp-to-Hire

    Work Hours: 40 hours per week
