Special Counsel is looking to hire a Litigation Paralegal for a direct hire opportunity with a busy client. The ideal candidate should exhibit a high attention to detail, be a team player, and demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with client and Litigation Support Department to handle all aspects of discovery
Act as a liaison between attorneys and Litigation Technology Department
Review discovery responses from opposing counsel; prepare discovery summaries
Review and create knowledge base with information from documents produced
Perform legal research for relevant information regarding cases
Assist with preparation of reports and provide status updates to clients
Prepare materials for hearings, trials, and depositions
Coordinate logistics for out of town trials
Assist with Appellate filings, prepare Record on Appeal, and exhibits of Bill of Costs
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Relativity and ECF procedures preferred
Specialization in Insurance Defense or Construction litigation required
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good judgment and problem-solving skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Paralegal Certificate a plus
Florida Registered Paralegal designation preferred
Experience: At least 5 years’ experience as a Paralegal in either Contentious or Non-Contentious Construction and Engineering matters.
