Litigation Paralegal

Special Counsel is searching for a Litigation Paralegal to fill an open position in Washington D.C. Candidate must have litigation experience working on large scale, complex litigation. Ideal candidate will be able to handle large litigation matters in different practice areas. 


  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. This candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, scheduling, maintaining case files, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed. 



  • Full understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, trial, and appellate procedures
  • Administratively manage all phases of litigation case
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines
  • Manage electronic and hard copy documents using firm and client-specific technology
  • Prepare deposition notices and subpoenas; organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, exhibits and summaries 
  • Bluebook, cite check and proofread briefs 
  • Thorough understanding of court rules and filing requirements 
  • Knowledge of Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, Pacer, and ECF filing procedures,
  • Draft and prepare documents for service and e-filing in filing in federal jurisdictions 
  • Experience with eDiscovery software including Relativity, Case Notebook, Trial Director and Adobe Professional
  • Trial preparation and attendance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years' as Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal
  • Ability to work overtime
