Special Counsel is currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal at a boutique law firm with at least 5 years of litigation experience for their San Francisco or DC office.  Candidate can reside in either city.  This is a direct-hire role to work with a firm devoted exclusively to representing whitleblowers in cases brought under the federal and state False Claims Acts, as well as under other whistleblower programs.


Candidates for this position will have initiative and a positive attitude.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure are musts.


-Excellent analytical and organization skills

-Superb technical skills and experience with a variety of document management platforms, including Reliability and Concordance

-Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe

-Proven ability to do factual and legal research


-Draft pleadings

-Prepare and file briefs and other pleadings electronically in federal courts

-Collect and process documents for discovery following electronic discovery protocols and procedures

-Analyze factual and legal research

-Communicate efficiently and professionally with clients and prospective clients


-Strong attention to detail

-Prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

-Top notch technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office

-Desire to take initiative and expand knowledge

Experience:  Minimum of 5 years litigation experience

Employment:  Direct Hire

Compensation:  60,000 minimum, 90,000 maximum

Work Hours:  9:00 am – 6:00 pm.  40 hours per week.  Flexibility with remote from time to time – but mainly in office during the week.
