Litigation Support Paralegal

Special Counsel is currently recruiting an experienced, skilled, and motivated person with strong communication and interpersonal skills for a Litigation Support Paralegal in DC.


  • Responsible for the provision of litigation support and electronic discovery services through the EDRM
  • Assist the Paralegal Administrator in supervising and training Paralegal Department staff and coordinating workflow to ensure that the day-to-day work of the firm is performed at a high level, including leading the Department, as needed, in the absence of the Paralegal Administrator
  • Perform a full range of paralegal responsibilities in a wide variety of litigation forums.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of litigation paralegal experience
  • 5 years of litigation support experience
  • Expansive knowledge of electronic discovery risks and benefits, methodologies and practices, technologies, tools and products, and service providers, as well as sound general knowledge of contemporary computing standards, practices, and technologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation process and life cycle.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency, at an administrator level, of at least one litigation support database application (e.g., iPro Cloud, Relativity).
  • Proficiency with LiveNote.
  • Familiarity with trial presentation software (e.g., Sanction or Trial Director).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various data storage methodologies and effective and defensible method for harvesting data to a useable form.
  • Proven capabilities to work in teams, and to develop and maintain quality relationships with staff, lawyers, and vendors.
  • Excellent attention to detail, proactive approach to problem-solving, ability to manage case team expectations and maintain satisfaction.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple, concurrent projects of varying complexity.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, written and oral, to interact effectively with non-technical users and clients.
