Litigation/Real Estate Assistant/Paralegal

Special Counsel's client is in need a legal assistant/paralegal blend.  The position would be assisting municipal clients where the attorney acts as a solicitor.  Prior experience in litigation is necessary and municipal law is a plus.  The firm offers excellent benefits and compensation and is remote until vaccinations are complete.  To hear more about this exciting opportunity please send your resume to 


The real estate & municipal law paralegal/administrative assistant will handle and be responsible for supporting all aspects of the municipal law department, will work closely with real estate and transactional attorneys, and must have the following qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational skills ·
  • Advanced technological skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and familiarity with document management systems
  •  Handle client calls, correspondence, and schedule appointments · Routine typing, editing, proofreading, and copying and scanning documents
  • Setting up and maintaining files in both hard copy and electronic formats · Assist with monthly municipal meeting agendas and minutes
  • Draft municipal resolutions and ordinances · Prepare initial drafts of transaction documents · Review and analyze title commitments and surveys
  • Team player who will assist with other administrative duties as necessary
  • Sending out monthly invoices in a timely fashion In addition, the real estate and municipal law paralegal/administrative assistant will review and suggest improvements to existing policies and procedures to increase efficiencies and reduce time spent on administrative tasks.
  • Skills needed:

  • At least 2 years of legal office related experience is required for the position.
  • Ability to work as a legal secretary and paralegal
  • Ability to type 50 wpm or greater
  • Attention to detail with good writing and communication skills
