Paralegal (Commercial Litigation) Job Responsibilities:
Perform full range of litigation paralegal tasks from case inception through discovery process, trial, post-trial proceedings and case closure.
Examine, organize, summarize and analyze information relating to discrete projects or issues of a case.
Investigate factual questions using local libraries, internet and/or other outside sources.
Assist in the collection and organization of information relevant to potential deponents; summarize deposition transcripts; and maintain deposition library.
File pleadings and other documents in both hard and electronic copy and research and obtain data from the Courthouse files.
Prepare and coordinate final exhibits for trial, help as needed during trial.
Over 5 years of recent experience working in a litigation legal department of medium to large firm.
Paralegal certification, preferred.
California local and Federal courts experience required.
Experience with electronic case filings in various jurisdictions.
Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.
Experience with Litigation related software programs such as Concordance, Summation, MS Access, Ringtail, Casemap, Sancation, Trial Director, Lexis and Westlaw.
Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.
Ability to effectively communicate (both oral and written) with a varied audience, including all levels of firm members, vendors, and clients.
A highly professional and positive demeanor and demonstrated work ethic including the willingness to take on extra tasks and responsibilities (including overtime) to meet client/firm needs.
