Special Counsel is recruiting a Paralegal for the in-house legal department of a growing nursing home management company with offices in Beachwood.  The Paralegal will support the Legal team. Competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with litigation oversight, litigation holds, and preparation of attorney letters to auditors
  • Assist in administration of outside counsel relationships; review billings/fees to project/engagement, to budget, to annual outside spend/budget statements
  • Assist with compliance.
  • Review and collaborate on leases, assist with lease renewals and amendments, and assistance with lease and property database
  • Support attorneys with review and administration of other significant contracts
  • Data tracking, management and storage (filing all final and executed agreements in an organized filing system)
  • Help with general corporate matters
  • Coordinating meetings on behalf of legal team
  • Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of paralegal experience at a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Undergraduate degree and paralegal certification
  • Broad knowledge of the principles of judicial and administrative process, knowledge of research procedures, publications and periodicals.
  • Broad knowledge of the basic principles of state laws regarding legal entities and knowledge of corporate record keeping with respect thereto
  • Experience reviewing, approving, processing and accruing for vendor and counsel invoices and other expenses,
  • Strong typing skills and computer skills required, with knowledge of general office equipment.
  • Superior organizational, analytic, verbal and writing skills necessary.
  • Superior interpersonal skills; ability to work with various types of people at all levels of the organization and in all locations
  • Good business judgment and awareness of and compliance with legal privilege and confidentiality requirements; ability to complete tasks under pressure and/or strict deadlines; detail oriented; proactive and self-starter.
