Are you a paralegal with strong attention to detail and ability to work in an evolving, start-up work environment? Special Counsel is seeking qualified candidates for a Paralegal position in Rosemont, IL. This is an on-site, full-time role at the firm’s office.


  • BA/ BS and a paralegal certification 
  • 3-5+ years of experience in at least one of the following settings: law firm, financial services, asset management and/or insurance industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with corporate debt transactions; private equity experience a plus
  • Familiarity/experience with physical settlements (including private debt, loans and commercial mortgage loans) preferred
  • Experience maintaining or producing KYC/AML documentation would be a plus Skills/Competencies
  • Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating meetings on behalf of legal team Requirements Experience
  • Assist in closing corporate debt transactions, including (some or all of) mezzanine, private and public placements, commercial loan originations, asset-backed securities
  • Drafting and negotiation of NDAs
  • Data tracking, management and storage (filing all final and executed agreements in an organized filing system)
  • Coordinate all Closing activities including; managing deal flow notices, wire instructions, signatories and confirming all final and executed deal documents have been received/circulated to bank vaults
  • Prepare discovery responses and documents for production 
  • Strong analytical and writing skills; extraordinary attention to detail
  • Other tasks as assigned
