Special Counsel is assisting a unique and exciting tech company with their search for a Real Estate and Regulatory Paralegal, which can be worked REMOTELY from anywhere in the US. Candidates will be ensuring compliance with state lending statutes while working towards expansion in all states, and also working with the company’s loan team regarding consumer loans and related documentation, and also assisting with corporate governance and other matters. Research, prepare and file state license applications in accordance with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS)
Monitor and keep updated lending regulations and state licensing changes on an ongoing basis
Develop policies, procedures and process management guidelines and work with key company team members towards automation of the loan approval, documentation, and loan servicing processes
Assist with corporate governance matters, update and maintain electronic corporate files, databases, and directories
Conduct legal research
Must have at least three years of paralegal experience, specifically in real estate, mortgage, and/or lending experience - working with a company, bank, mortgage company, or law firm
Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively with a team
Ability to proactively figure things out
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent technical and computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); DocuSign, NMLS and Corelogic experience a plus
Degree from an accredited college or university, paralegal certificate a plus
