Special Counsel has an exciting opportunity for a Real Estate Paralegal role with a client located in Chicago, IL. Interested candidates should have a variety of real estate transaction experience as a paralegal. This role is a full-time position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of real estate transactions in order to communicate effectively with attorneys, lenders, title companies, government agencies, internal staff, and clients
  • Order and review documents such as tract searchers, UCC searches, ownership searches, title commitments, surveys, Articles of Formation, Certificates of Good Standing, judgment and tax lien searches, and certified copies of recorded documents
  • Ability to negotiate title clearance matters
  • Preparation of loan documents, title objection letters, assignments of mortgage, and related financial documents
  • Analyzing zoning applications and related due diligence matters, legal descriptions, title reports, leases, purchase agreements, escrow instructions, easement descriptions, liens and recorded judgments, trust deeds, grant deeds, preliminary title searches, and policies of title insurance and endorsements
  • Balancing of escrow disbursements
  • Coordination of real estate closings
  • Qualifications and Skills:

  • BA/BS degree and/or Paralegal certificate
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • MS Office experience
  • Experience utilizing DoubleTime or Landtech is preferred
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and/or Paralegal certificate, with real estate paralegal experience
  • Employment Type:  Full-time

    Work hours:  Monday- Friday
