A prestigious law firm is looking for a Trademark paralegal to join their Garden City office.
Ability to complete and fill out US Patent and Trademark Office trademark forms for attorney review
Understanding of the U.S. trademark prosecution process, and familiarity with foreign trademark practice
Familiarity with CPI docketing system
Understanding of how to utilize USPTO systems, including TESS, TSDR, ETAS and ESTTA
While it is not essential, if the candidate has a basic understanding of design patent prosecution, copyright forms and some litigation paralegal experience, it would be helpful.
Preparing forms for submission to the USPTO (This is the most important thing. We need a candidate that can hit the ground running regarding this point.)
Reviewing domestic and foreign trademark approval documents, publication and allowance notices, and registration certificates and preparing reporting letters regarding the same
Liaising with clients regarding basic questions and status inquiries
Maintaining docket of upcoming and long-term deadlines
Storing e-mails prepared by attorney in electronic folders
