Trust & Estate Paralegal

Are you an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal looking for a full-time opportunity with a premiere PNW law firm in downtown Portland, OR? You will be handling all aspects the trust and estate administration process. This will include drafting and reviewing correspondence and legal documents, including petitions, pleadings, deeds and schedules of assets, documents to transfer assets to trusts, guardianship pleadings, estate planning documents, and more! You will also be responsible for handling probate matter.  You’ll work on maintaining calendars, various accounting tasks in regards to trust, estate and probate calculates. You will obtain asset values, assist with distributions, prepare federal/state estate tax returns and gift tax returns, administer trust-related matter. You will handle client correspondence, scheduling, gather information and financial records.

  • 3+ years of trust and estates paralegal experience, including both probate and non-probate proceedings, irrevocable life insurance trusts, basic estate planning, guardianships, fiduciary income tax, trust administration, and estate and gift taxes experience
  • BA/BS and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Must be familiar with local court rules and procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel). Familiarity with GEMs required
  • Great written and verbal communication skills highlighting excellent customer service skills
