Trust & Estates Paralegal

Special Counsel is assisting one of our clients in finding an experienced Trust & Estates paralegal. Candidates must have worked in trusts and estates, and have experience with the estate administration and filing tax forms for clients. 


• Coordinate and meet with clients to gather information needed for the administration of estates, trusts and guardianships

• Collect, organize and analyze documents and information regarding assets and their valuations, prepare inventories of assets as well as transfer documents

• Draft probate pleadings and file all necessary documents with the Probate Court, including petitions, fiduciary reports and accountings

• Draft other legal documents, including initial drafts of Wills, Revocable Trusts, Healthcare Directives and Powers of Attorney

• Prepare state and federal estate and gift tax returns

• Maintain files, including financial and tax records, and keep track of all due dates for probate and tax filings

• Assist with elder law matters, including the preparation and submission of applications for Medicaid and interact with social services agencies


• At least 3 years of previous Trusts & Estates Paralegal experience

• Excellent proofreading, editing and math skills

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills

• Detail oriented, organized, reliable and pro-active

• Ability to file 1041, 706, and 709 tax forms
