Retirement Plans and Related Compliance
Maintain a detailed understanding of MMBBJs retirement plans (in a church plan context) and MMBB js non-contractual benefits o Thorough understanding of key calculations related to the plans such as the maximum allowable contribution, September 30, annuity payout, etc.
Responsible for understanding the actuarial impact of current plan design and any changes to plan design.
Maintain current knowledge on legislative matters that could affect church plans and/or defined contribution plans.
Responsible for recommending proposed plan changes based on legislation, IRS rules, member's needs, etc.
Review new material or revisions to existing material: literature, website text, seminars, workshops, etc. to ensure that language is consistent with MMBB plans, etc.
Contract Management o Review legal documents (e.g. contracts, subpoenas, domestic relations orders). o Assist in development of a procurement process and contract administration o Vendor compliance (monitor vendors to ensure service requirements are met)
Coordinate disability and health insurance administration
Education o Educate and train employees on compliance related matters o Edit quarterly legal and compliance newsletter o Address questions concerning policy matters.
Other responsibilities o Process beneficiary forms o General administrative support o Will play an integral part in growth of Legal and Compliance Department.

Financial and/or faith-based industry experience a plus.
Bachelor's Degree required. At least 5 years' experience as a paralegal working in a law firm or corporation.
