TTH/DH-Legal Controller/Sr. Accountant/Manager

Special Counsel is looking to hire a Legal Controller/Senior Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a great law firm. The ideal candidate will have exceptional management skills, highly confidential, great analytical skills, and have law firm experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  •  Report and support Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operations Officer (COO) and other executive team members
  • Supervise monthly close-out process such as bank reconciliations and monthly financial statements
  • Forecast and prepare annual budgets
  • Present comparative analysis of forecasted budget with monthly financial statements to executive team
  • Controlling cash management and creating a forward liquidity projection analysis
  • Document, maintain, and establish financial policies and procedures
  • Manage relationship with clients, 3rd party contractors, and internal employees.
  • Create process system and assist in integrating technologies into procedures to increase efficiencies.
  • Prepare special reports for executive team including trends and financial summaries
  • Prepare and review journal entries
  • Oversee and implement appropriate procedures for accounts receivable and accounts payables
  • Manage the firm’s accounts and accounting filing system
  • Review vendors, contracts, and financial assets.
  • Qualifications:

  • Law firm experience required
  • Familiarity with ProLaw/Perfect Law
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  •  

    Education:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation is preferred
  • Benefits:

    Work Hours:  8:30 AM – 5:30 PM; 40 Hours
